Susannah Acuff Imhoff, MA is Senior Associate Director of Research Development in the Research Development Office. She leads the development of strategy and team science guidance for the Transcend Initiatives and oversees the mobilization of university and research development resources to help Transcend teams achieve their goals. Susannah joined WashU in 2024 after gaining substantial experience in federal and private funding landscapes as Assistant Director of Research Development at Vanderbilt University, where she managed numerous submissions of complex, center-level grant proposals that secured funding from diverse sources. Her background includes research roles at U.S. Pharmacopeia, Rhodes College, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and internationally in Uganda and Brazil. Susannah holds a MA in Applied Anthropology (Medical and Cultural) from the University of Memphis and has served as an instructor of Cultural Anthropology at multiple universities.
